Love the gunbarrel is this one and combined with this track. Kind of disco but with heavy use of Synthesizers. If AVTAK is the definition of the late 80s sound this soundtrack is the definition of an early 80s sound. Something he used extensively to great effect and homage in TND.Īhhh FYEO. Pretty sure this is the soundtrack that David Arnold takes inspiration from when he mentions the swelling horns. Thunderball has so many good tracks and I love the use of brass and horns in this particular one. The use of Japanese instruments to push the melodic themes along is so powerful with the images of Japan. I think John Barry got comfortable with establishing the Bond sound and so with Yolt decided to give it the appropriate Japanese twist and this track is a perfect example. Yolt was imo the first full-blown acceptance of setting. I had so much fun playing Nightfire with friends and these tracks always bring good memories. Honorable mentions: the Nightfire multiplayer themes.

Goldeneye also happens to have been the first Bond movie I ever saw (not in theaters though, was way too young for that at the time) it brings nostalgic feelings of the movie and the N64 game. The track conveys the feeling of the scene it plays over - infiltrating the Soviet facility. It perfectly fits the car he’s driving, the undercover identity as a banker he’s playing, and the event he’s attending. Tomorrow Never Dies - Not sure if the track even has a name, but it’s the theme that plays when Bond arrives at Carver’s party. Even though this was before my time and the movie isn’t great, the theme song absolutely fits and it’s just a great 80s song full stop.
