  • Allow new APIs to be run on existing drivers.
  • Render Pass - The Render Pass feature was added to:.
  • The runtime will advertise SRV-Only Tiled Resource Tier 3 support to applications for any hardware that already supports orthogonal Tiled Resource Tier 3.

Drivers that already advertise support for orthogonal Tiled Resource Tier 3 merely have to update their drivers to support the latest “options caps” DDI structure version. But, supporting SRV-Only Tiled Resource Tier 3 is a super-set tier that requires support for Tiled Resource Tier 2. Hardware support is optional, just like orthogonal Tiled Resource Tier 3 support currently is. SRV-Only Tiled Resource Tier 3 is a conceptual tier that fits between Tier 2 and Tier 3. Direct3D12 now supports sparse volume textures without requiring unordered-access and render-target operations.

  • SRV-Only Tiled Resource Tier 3 - In Windows 10, version 1809, Tiled Resource Tier 3 capabilities can be supported less-orthogonally by GPUs.

  • Universal Driver Requirements - WDDM 2.5 drivers will need to ensure their DirectX11 UMD, DirectX12 UMD, KMDs, and any other DLL loaded by these components, adhere to the Universal API.
  • For more info about raytracing, see Announcing Microsoft DirectX Raytracing. Example DDIs include: PFND3D12DDI_BUILD_RAYTRACING_ACCELERATION_STRUCTURE_0054, PFND3D12DDI_COPY_RAYTRACING_ACCELERATION_STRUCTURE_0054.
  • Raytracing - New Direct3D DDI's were created in parallel of Direct3D API's, in order to support hardware-accelerated raytracing.
  • Updates to Display driver development in Windows 10, version 1809 include the following : It’s the only way we can play the game at this point.Windows 10 October 2018 Update (Version 1809) Includes WDDM 2.5. There were occassional hiccupses but nothing too bad.

I have a 65 Mbps download speed (it’s recommended to have at least 25 Mbps) and it ran pretty well, as I was able to complete the campaign on heroic. Also, in Nvidia’s DX 12 do’s and don’ts guide for devs it says “Don’t rely on the availability of tiled resources (check cap bits), still need to think about different DX12 hardware classes”, which is exactly what Infinite does it needs tiled resources which are not present in FL 11 GPU’s (not mandatory, at least, maybe some FL 11 GPU’s have them), therefore causing the game to crash.Īlso, in case you didn’t know, you can play the game through xCloud if you have a good enough internet connection. Even people with higher end systems seem to be experiencing performance issues, so the optimization overall probably isn’t all too good.

I don’t think they really care about this issue, if they even consider it an issue at all for that matter.

Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post, but I had to cram in all the relevant info I could. Could this just be an oversight by the devs? Perhaps the game only required FL 11 at some point during development and they forgot to update the system requirements prior to release.

The reason I’m asking this is because the game’s system requirements on the Microsoft Store specifiy the game requires FL 11, while that does not actually seem to be the case. It seems that it’s simply this missing hardware feature that’s preventing us with older GPU architectures from playing the game altogether. My question is, are there any plans to implement support for DirectX 12 feature level 11 GPU’s? The “Hardware Tiled Resources Tier 2” error appears when launching the game on every single FL 11 GPU, even if it would otherwise be powerful enough to run the game decently. I submitted multiple tickets to Halo Support asking this question, and yesterday I got a response from an agent, saying he does not have an answer for me and directing me to ask the question on the forum.
